Youth Advisory Council

The Youth Advisory Council (YAC) is comprised of high school students that represent all nine school districts in Oswego County, including private schools, and home schools.
YAC works closely with the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau to develop programs that will benefit its members and the community.
In addition to raising money for charitable organizations throughout the county, the council conducts a youth voter registration drive, sponsors speakers for young audiences, creates brochures targeted at youth, and represents young people in Oswego County by advising the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and other Oswego County organizations. We want to know what issues our young adults are facing, how they feel changes can be made, to get them active in their community and to get their input on programming for youth in Oswego County.
Why should you join YAC?
- Make friends from other schools
- Be a voice for you and your peers
- Learn how to plan events
- Give back to your community
- Gain confidence and self-esteem
- Earn community service hours
- Have fun
